Oh, it’s THAT KIND OF PARTY: Spa Lei, Seoul, South Korea

Returning to Seoul after our meeting-packed first day, we wanted to go to a spa, a can’t-miss activity said a Korean-American friend. We hadn’t shaken jet lag and needed pampering.

Lonely Planet‘s Seoul guidebook reported that Spa Lei operated 24/7, catered to a female-only clientele and offered an English-language menu. That last bit was incorrect. After a half-hour of earnest communication attempts, we dialed the free Korean-English translator hotline to order full spa access and body scrubs, mud body treatments and cucumber facials. I’d read in the LP guidebook that many women head straight to a spa after work or clubbing, spend the night relaxing, then drudge back to work/home in the morning. Pinterest boards are similar to the concept of mood boards (as used by designers and creative folk) or vision boards. Pinterest boards collect pins linked to sites for favorite recipes, fun activities for kids, interior decorating ideas and fashion. Users pin and repin others’ pins on their boards.  Continue reading “How to Help Spammers on Pinterest in Four Easy Steps”

As moviegoers learn in romcoms like this scene from My Best Friend’s Wedding starring Julia Roberts and the swoon-worthy timbre of Durmot Mulroney, you can’t let a good thing pass you by.

It’s true (in this movie – SPOILER ALERT) when your best friend with whom you have secretly been in love with for years is marrying someone so cute you despise her and you say nothing until the wedding day.

And it’s also true when major cultural attractions go sight unseen by its own residents like the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s River Cruise (which also figures prominently in this scene).  Continue reading “Booze and 5 More Reasons You Shouldn’t Let the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s River Cruise Pass You By (Thanks, Julia Roberts)”
